A few weeks have passed since Brian and Wendy Wilshaw received the unfortunate news from the Gambling Commission that they would not be able to run the draw to pick a winner as originally planned. Just a week away from when the competition should have originally ended (had tickets not sold out early), it seems that the Oldborough Retreat has still not been given away. |

In a last minute twist, it seems that the Oldborough Retreat prize draw, scheduled for today, has been postponed. In a blow to Brian and Wendy Wilshaw's plan to give away the property in their own draw to avoid the fall in the housing market, the Gambling Commission has started a late investigation into how they organised their competition. |

Congratulations to Brian and Wendy Wilshaw, who reportedly successfully sold all 46,000 tickets they were aiming for to give away their £1 million property, Oldborough Retreat. The competition was intended to last until the beginning of December, but it seems that the Wilshaw's marketing paid off early. At £25 per ticket, the couple successfully raised the targeted £1.15 million they were targeting. |

As many people know, Alex's next venture was Pixelotto, a free lottery based on pixel advertising, launched with a big PR campaign with the promise of giving $1 million to a lucky winner. As it's the 24th of December, just a short note to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and happy comping over the coming weeks! The team at Prize Competitions will be taking a break over the next week or so but we'll keep scouring the net for fresh comps for the New Year! We'd like to thank all of you that have supported Prize Competitions over the last few months and we know many of you have won great prizes as a result of finding out about comps and improving your skills when entering and playing comps!
We hope that 2008 brings loads of new exciting competitions and prizes and that our community continues growing so you can tell us all about what you've won. January is usually a great month to find out about new competitions and promotions, we'll make sure to let you know what the best ones are as usual. Hi everyone! We're finally up and running - hurray :). As you can see we've made a lot of changes and visitors can now sign up for free membership. As intended the main purpose of this site is to allow people to find the best competitions and competition websites, and we have now setup review sections for featured prize competitions, comping books, free draw and lottery sites and competition websites. Please feel free to add your own competitions if you're a promoter. Our website offers you a great chance to get some earnest feedback about your comps and websites. For all you compers, we've put together a number of resources that we hope will help you win more prizes as well as allow you to communicate with other compers. - Our comping forum where you can discuss anything sweepstakes and comping related!
- The Useful Comping Links section is a directory to all comping related resources. If you know of a great tool, website or other resource, feel free to add it!
- If you're new to comping or the internet you may find our Glossary of Comping and Internet Terms helpful. As a member of our community you are also welcome to add any new terms you think might help others along the way.
- For those who prefer to comp in person, we have also put together lists of comping clubs in your area . If your club is not yet listed and you would like it to be, please send us the details via email and we'll promptly add your club.
- Our editorial teams will also from time to time publish it's own comping articles that are intended to help any budding comper.
- Finally, our Guestbook allows anyone to voice their opinions about the site or anything else that comes to mind.
That's all for the moment. We'll be focusing on getting the word out about this site in the next few months, and making sure the site features quality content for our community. If you have any suggestions or comments, please let us know! We hope you enjoy. |
